The mission of the Club is to increase the knowledge of, and to stimulate the love for, gardening among amateurs; to promote interest in horticulture and the art of flower arrangement through exhibition and study; to aid in the protection of the environment, native trees, plants and birds in the City of Bethlehem and its vicinity; and to generate interest in enhancing our environment through conservation.
The Bethlehem Garden Club was organized in May 1930, and became a charter member of the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania in 1931.
The Club has participated in dozens of projects that have brought recognition and awards to the City of Bethlehem, including Victory Gardens, memorial trees, beautification hardscaping, and the Miller's House Garden.
General meetings of the Club are held on the third Thursday of each month. The club year starts in September. There are no meetings in January and February.
Any adult interested in the mission for which the Club exists is eligible for membership, regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, or religious affiliation.
